Black Film Spotlight: Eve's Bayou

Eve's Bayou (1997, R, 108 min). A ten-year-old Black girl from Louisiana learns that her family, despite its wealth, is rife with troubles that run deeper than she could have ever anticipated. As family conflicts escalate, she seeks help from her aunt, a gifted Hoodoo practitioner. Directed by Kasi Lemmons, this Southern Gothic drama stars Jurnee Smollett, Debbie Morgan, Samuel L. Jackson, Meagan Good, and Diahann Carroll.
