Traversing Ancient Mountains: 2,000 Miles on the Appalachian Trail
"The Habitual Hiker," aka Leonard M. Adkins, will present a multimedia program that depicts a typical Appalachian Trail thru hike. Adkins has hiked the entire length of the Appalachian Trail five times, a feat accomplished only by a handful of others. In addition to his award-winning book, Wildflowers of the Appalachian Trail, his most recent work, All About the Appalachian Trail, for children ages 8-12, has received the Independent Book Publishers Association Award for Young Readers in nonfiction. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
This event is part of our program series in anticipation of All Henrico Reads with Cheryl Strayed, sponsored by the Friends of Henrico County Public Library.
