Inspired Color: Painter Alma Woodsey Thomas
In this featured Summer Reading event, we will briefly survey the life, achievements, and key paintings of Alma Woodsey Thomas, the first Black woman to have her work added to the White House Collection of Art. Then, participants will design and use acrylic paints on canvas to create their own small paintings inspired by Thomas' bold and colorful art. Instruction and supplies will be provided. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
