Henrico Community Authors Showcase
Come see Natalie Johnson, author of Walking in Her Shoes. Being a mom is hard enough on its own, but when you add a history of abuse, depression, low self-esteem, mental illness, alcoholism, domestic violence, or infidelity, it can easily become overwhelming. The stories in this book unapologetically return humanity to motherhood, introduce the woman behind the title, and empower women to take control of their own lives. There is nothing more powerful than a woman that acknowledges her truth, owns her story, and walks in her own shoes, especially a mother! Natalie Johnson was born and raised in Brooklyn by a Jamaican mother. She holds a bachelor's in communications from Brooklyn College and associate's degree in journalism from Kingsborough Community College. As a mother of three, she is currently pursuing a master's degree.
