To Sir, with Love (1967, PG, 105 min.) Sidney Poitier stars as Mark Thackeray, an unemployed engineer who takes a temporary teaching job at a rough London high school. He wins over his rebellious, undisciplined students by abandoning the curriculum and engaging them in frank discussions about life, ethics, and personal responsibility, eventually earning their respect and transforming their futures.
