Something to Talk About: Making Medieval Books

Something to Talk About: Making Medieval Books

Come out the second Tuesday of every month for movies, local history presentations, genealogy, and more! Bring your own lunch; the Friends of the Library will provide coffee, tea and water.

Long ago, creating a book required a level of skill and artistry that only the wealthy could afford. Elizabeth C. Teviotdale, Associate at UCLA's CMRS Center for Early Global Studies, will share her knowledge of the materials and tools used in making books in the European Middle Ages (roughly 500-1500 CE).
